I'm not knocking you or complaining about your post. I just don't understand boxing fans always backing their Nationality or race. I'm black, so I find my self rooting for those that look like me but I root for the styles more. I've never rooted for a guy just because he's American either. Just curious to ask, and I promise I mean no disrespect. Don't answer if this is inappropriate.

Do you root for your nationality over ethnicity?

There is nothing wrong in rooting for your countryman. You don’t necessarily root for all your countrymen against others. But on certain occasions you do. For example, am a Mayweather fan. So root for him when he fought Hatton.

Am not a Brook fan but root for him against Crawford, but when he fought Spence? Root against him. Personally I root for boxer boxer (Sweet science) as that’s my preferred style of boxing.

And I don’t think people that root for their countrymen do it blindly neither, you obviously want them to win but it doesn’t mean you hate the opponents. I personally like both BJS and Canelo in the ring, I know Canelo got this, but if BJS pulls it off then kudos to him.
