Is Gervonta Davis content with collecting secondary belts and pretending to be champion?

It seems like he has no interest in fighting the actual WBA champions at 135 and 140.

He just wants to pretend he’s a three divisional champion apparently.

He’s paying more than the champion in sanctioning fees.

Yep. Floyd, Ellerbe and the PBC have their agenda for Tank and it is turn him in to a money making PPV star. Not a fighter who takes them all on or looks to build an amazing legacy. Just money.

So with the importance of a zero loss record to American casuals as well as little understanding of what belts hold any meaning Team Tank can keep smack talking but slipping past the big names and pick up secondary titles and claim him an unbeaten multi world title holder.

And that's what the sell him as, unbeaten, take on all comers, any time, any place and a multi division world champion. Yes we all know that's all bollocks and he is a clout chasing duck job but we only make up a small portion of the target market. The casuals make up the vast majority of sales.

The WBA were blatantly corrupt when they gave Davis the Super title opportunity at 130

that being said, he was the legitimate IBF champion at 130. Pedraza was a solid opponent at the time

He is only a world champion at 130. He’ll only be a multi weight champion if he picks up another major title. The regulars at 135 and 140 are not recognised

Yep you hit it right on the button. The one good thing about showtime as opposed to fox is they won't let him get away with that forever same with jermall eventually you have to move up and fight someone who is a threat within pbc or make a fight with another top fighter outside of pbc.

Seems like it right now. I'd like to be proven wrong though.

These fighters today are garbage. The media is worst for calling these abc trinket collectors "champions". Ring magazine belt is the only one with prestige. Boxing is always it's worst enemy.

eh...people are going to bag davis and thats expected given how people treat any fighter affiliated with haymon/floyd around here...those guys broke alot of hearts

heres the reality though....all davis is trying to do is let fights build...hed fight garcia right now...but guess what? i dont think oscar would allow it...and id be willing to bet even haymon doesnt really want it right now either...its too early.....its unfortunate but these guys will risk losses and let fights mature....theres a good 4-5 guys all around the same weight class that are young and marketable....that all are building their names....tank is a bit ahead of that curve as hes a little older...had floyd ppv to piggy back off...........but these guys would be leaving money on the table and risking a loss prematurely....

people were spoiled by teo taking on loma....and that was great and i loved it...but it was easy to make...both inhouse at top rank.....some of these other fights like teo/tank...ryan/tank...haney/teo...shakur vs guys....they arent that easy to make and these guys arent going to prematurely match up a potential star with another potential star/star this early when these fights can be worth 5x as much 3 years from now...all while they can still earn in the meantime

just not all that sensible....you can bag davis all you want...i know hes the scapegoat for alot of you...but trust me hearn isnt in any hurry to move haney to fight teo or tank right now....teo isnt a hurry to go for tank right now....tank isnt a hurry to get ry right now....theres time for these to mature and some fans just cant let go off the idea "i want fights when i want them...i want the guys i want fighting the guys i want when i want it dammit i deserve that" BS....it doesnt work that way and probably NEVER will
