its a 12 round fight, who knows how the fight would have evolved. you can speculate all you want, but that doesn't make the outcome of the fight determined.

nah, ortiz quit because he didn't want to take anymore punishment. he said himself that he was too young to take a beating like that.

nate quit because he couldn't see out of his left eye.

      nate's quittage is more legitimate.

Nate's quittage (is that even a word) has exposed a flaw in the system. Ignoring whether Nate's eye problem was legit or not, what's to stop other fighters from using a accidental cut before the 4th, to weasel out of a fight if they feel like they're in there with a superior fighter?

I've thought about this and if a fighters gets cut, regardless of whether the doctor thinks a fighter can continue, he can say that he can't see and walk away with a NC, saying they're blind and can't see.

FLAW IN THE SYSTEM. A loophole for fighters to escape on.

Ortiz said he asked for a rematch and Maidana didn't want to.

the cut wasn't the problem, the problem was that nate couldn't see! ok, well a boxer could get cut and say he can't see... but nate has had worse cuts and was in tougher fights than the bradley fight. so in the specific case of campbell, its clear that he wasn't lying.

you have to take every fight case by case.

c'mon man. HE COULDN'T SEE OUT OF HIS ****IN LEFT EYE!!! the doctor is suppose to stop the fight if a boxer does not have vision of both eyes.

its the job of the doctor to protect a boxer. who could the doctor know that nate couldn't see out of that eye unless nate told him so????

yes, a boxer could lie and say he can't see out of his eye, but then they may lose their shot at a future shot for a belt, payday, etc...

nate probably won't get his rematch against bradley... bradley will likely get a payday soon, one that nate would've gotten if he had beaten bradley. so nate didn't "escape" from the consequences.
