Huck Decisions Ramirez,Captures WBO Cruiserweight Title

In a key career victory at the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany, Marco Huck (26-1, 20KOs) revived his career with a twelve round decision win over Victor Emilio Ramirez (15-2, 12KOs) to capture the WBO cruiserweight title. The scores were 116-111, 115-112 and 116-111. Huck lost points in rounds seven and eleven for low blows. The action was back and forth with Huck landing the harder punches and standing his ground when Ramirez tried to press him with back. The fight was closer than the scorecards would indicate but Huck was the fighter landing better, getting off first and landing last to steal a few rounds. [details]

      He did.

He landed the cleaner, more effective punches in most of the rounds - Ramirez was missing a lot and hitting Huck's gloves.

There was only one point deduction, not two like it says in the report.

        Remains to be seen.

He did win IMO. The fight was decent and failed to live up to my expectations. That was largely because Huck kept his cool much better than ever. He executed the gameplan of Ulli Wegner which I didn't expect him to.

And as Tunney said: There was only one point deducted.

He did in my book. I normally root for the bully fighter too. Huck seemed nervous in a few rounds, but he definitely won. Cards were right on.

While I like Ramirez I like Huck too but always thought of Huck as being a caveman type fighter. At least Ramirez did his thing with pressure and not try to box looking like a caveman.

Maybe Wegner finally polished Huck.I was expecting this to be all out action though.

only one point deducted? I watched the fight and the refereee grabbed huck's hand twice and pointed to all judges saying "one point - low blow" at two separate occassions. It makes sense if only one point was deducted as this was a robbery anyways. Huck is a duck . Let him face the real cruiser weight boxers..adamek / cunningham and others..he will be greatly exposed especially as he had problems with Martinez

He already fought Cunningham and was close most of the fight before getting stopped in the last round lol.
