Gaps in the American market has created this sort of match ups. More power to them, flood the American market with it. Maybe that would mean those active boxers would stop the other side of the streets BS.

I still remember prime Barrera getting battered by Amir "Glass Chin" Khan. Oh wait, he lost, so he was past prime, right? Despite pushing a prime Marquez all the way just 2 years earlier.

This is not like a old musician where they can still string some good harmless cords together for themselves and others to enjoy . This is about ******ity on the part of people wanting to see an old man , in some cases nearly sixty years of age and dangerously long past his prime trying to in many cases right the wrongs they were unable to do in their primes or make a few dangerous quid off their faded names. I feel that these kind of match ups are mainly due to the greedy promoters and so called governing bodies only ranking their favourites and the money names that they and the promoters want for their slice. This has always been the case but some of these promoters are selling second rate PPv's like Derek Chisora , beaten ten times and faded toping a card. The idiots who don't know will still pay but this kind of thing is stopping other fights being made. There's plenty of top rated fighters but the trend now is just to ask for silly money and fight nobodies until. The Crawford v Spence fight should have already taken place , as should Wilder v Joshua (and many more) Joshua's promoter agreed to take the fight but only offering the other champion 15% which he was certain to refuse.
Having two old guy's in there swinging way past their primes is not going to solve anything and anyone who understands how dangerous our sport is will understand a part from making these proud men a few quid it is going to end badly.
