The author chose a confusing title but him being ok with waiting for Canelo doesnt mean he's going to sit on the sideline. They're just saying they're not clamoring for the fight right now because he knows he's not in line for the Canelo fight anytime soon. He's going to continue sharpening his skills with other fights.

Just saying, there are fighters that sit around and wait in their division (Jarmell, Andrade, Charlo, GGG, Benavidez, Plant) and those who are not pussssies and and not afraid to take risks in higher weight classes(Canelo, Ward, Mikey, etc.)

Benavidez is still young enough to become a popular fighter in his own right. When he showed up on the scene, a Canelo fight was never really in the cards but people still saw a lot of promise in him - none of that has changed. Yeah he had some hiccups with Gavril and the *******, but if that is behind him then he should be back on the same track of carving his own path. Make a bunch of money and good fights and Canelo may be forced to look that way someday
