Knowing what we know about AJ, it is a ridiculous commercial. If the premise was, 'hey I've bounced back from bad defeats, I don't let that define me', then that would have been an appropriate commercial. And I would have never made this thread.
Well he’s made several commercials , if that’s the case and you don’t agree with it maybe you are suggesting the commercial should feature A.J leaving the ring shrugging his shoulders with his head down with a tear coming down while his father and Hearn strangle each other in the ring with fans throwing garbage at him while McCracken falls over the chaos having a heart attack ?
This is what the commercial should be nothing of overcoming something ? Maybe you’ve missed the part that he got more notoriety from the commercial you talk about and you speak of being smart and came to the conclusion he should be embarrassed ?
AJ fans (and all superfans) are overly sensitive to criticism. This wasn't really about him. It was about how ridiculous the context of the commercial is, considering AJ's history. He is a great successful boxer, but we all know he sh.it the bed vs Ruiz.Comment

Objective boxing fans aren't their target market; their target market are casual fans who Joshua has mountains of considering he's been marketed so well.

This.
Lord knows I'm no Joshua fan but his presence has been beneficial to heavyweight boxing. Are his fans, mostly boxing illiterate dorks with a fetish? Yeah. Is he overrated? Probably. But he puts bums on seats and he gets the casuals to part with their cash. That's all that matters in marketing.Comment
