Not sure why this is provoking such polarisation. It's a decent fight and possibly the biggest name in boxing selling of a boatload of tickets in a short amout of time as covid restrictions subside doesn't seem unexpected or controversial.

I will be watching, no doubt about that. Firmly expect Canelo to win, but he is fighting a live dog and it's a valid contest. May the best man win. Happy for a boxing match to be doing such brisk sales and hope a lot of people enjoy the event.

The sport always benefits from the top guy making fights people want to see. The sport suffers when the top guy makes Yildrim type fights that no one outside of his diehard base cares about.

maybe people don’t want to watch someone who doesn’t speak English that they can’t connect with. Maybe they watched Floyd shut him out and don’t think he is worth paying to see fight.

maybe they watched the GGG fights and think Canelo lost both and don’t want to see him be given another win in their opinion.

in other words, maybe the people you are referring to have perfectly legitimate reasons for not wanting to watch Canelo.

Canelo just moved 40,000 tickets during the pre-sale. So there are plenty of fans that are connecting with him and think he's worth paying to see fight.
