Comments Thread For: Crawford: Hooker Hurt Vergil Ortiz; I Seen A Lot Of Holes In His Game I Would Exploit

Vergil Ortiz Jr. impressed Terence Crawford on Saturday night. Ortiz overcame some adversity in a difficult fight against one of Crawford's stablemates and stopped Maurice Hooker. The 22-year-old Ortiz's seventh-round, technical-knockout victory over the former WBO junior welterweight champion is his most noteworthy win in nearly five years as a pro.

Would and will are 2 very different things when it comes to these American fighters. They all would do this, that and the other but never actually do anything.

With no meaningful opponent on the horizon Crawford should be talking this fight UP not down! Especially if he sees an easy payday!!

There's no need to fight him because I can assure you I'd beat him. Transparent and more than a little pathetic.

Crawford is right in this scenario. He has nothing to gain by fighting Ortiz besides a check. The way people talk smack about Crawford if he took the fight and won like he rightly should he beat a kid with minimum experience and gets no credit whatsoever. Ortiz is the only one gaining here. Crawford needs to focus on Porter, Pac, Spence or even Ugas period.

I was all for this fight, until i saw the Hooker fight. Then I realized something. Hererra, Orozco, and Hooker were not players at 147! Plus, all 3 of them were right handed fighters. Vergil has not seen anything near Crawford's abilities! I suggest Vergil fight a good southpaw first! If not Pacquiao, then Yelelussinov! Yelelussinov is a full grown man (30 yrs. old), 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist, and southpaw! Anther big plus is he fights on DAZN! I think he would be perfect for Vergil...if he can't get Pacquiao!

Of course Ortiz has holes but he's talking about his face being busted up, but wasn't Crawford cut up after just a few rounds against Brook? Not like Crawford never gets hit himself.

I would still like to see this fight. Crawford is a bad a$$ and a bad mutha f'er in the ring, but Ortiz wants it and I think he will account for himself well.

100% agree. Crawford plays with him before he stops Ortiz... If Oscar puts him in this soon with Crawford he's a sht promotor.
