Boxingscene must be reading my posts. Not long after comes a story about VADA testing for the fight.

It’s guns v guns, and Povetkin taking Whyte out again isn’t been ruled out here by me. His intelligence and power is still there, the fact that he set up that uppercut perfectly shows boxing isn’t just about age at HW level.

Spot on. This could be Povetkin's last major fight if it goes pear-shaped, but he goes into this fight with a major psychological advantage.

It never was. Anything can happen at Heavyweight. The reason these old guys that have been around for so long are still dangerous is due to the experience factor. Povetkin has forgotten more about boxing than Whyte has ever learned.

Larry Holmes vs Ray Mercer is another great example. People thought Mercer would steamroll the 43 year old Holmes, but Larry set traps and outsmarted Mercer for 12 rounds and won a UD.

A decision win isn't good enough for Whyte; however, Anthony Joshua's failing to get a knock out vs Ruiz in the rematch as well as running and avoiding any chance of setting up a knock out was not only fine, but also hailed as a tremendous victory and total revenge on "Super Snickers." Based on what Joshua did in the Ruiz rematch, anything Whyte does in the Povetkin rematch short of impersonating Jerry Lewis in the 1952 version of "Sailor Beware" ought to qualify him for Fighter of the Year.
White isn't fighting for a title. Of course Joshus just beating Ruiz is enough. White is really having a rematch that shouldn't even be taking place.
