Erislandy Lara boxed absolutely brilliantly in that fight. It's funny how after the fight Canelo was crying to Chepo Reynoso and saying how that's not how you fight. But Canelo spent the next 3 years reinventing himself into a guy that pot shots you and moves around the ring. He's been trying as hard as possible to fight like Lara even though he complains about it. Canelo has basically tried his hardest to become what his own fans say is a "boring" fighter.

I can't believe Canelo fans are really out there trying to say BJS has a chance on the cards

Everyone else seems to find Lara boring while finding Canelo's fights to be exciting.

Canelo boxed very well against Cotto. He only landed 155 punches though. He did what he needed to do to win, but he won that fight by being cautious, not getting hit, and landing 1 punch at a time. Wasnt "exciting" at all.
Canelo didn't need to use caution versus a lot of guys like Liam Smith, Fielding, even Kovalev or Callum. When Lara fights lower ranked fighters, he knocks them out too.,
Canelo vs. GGG 1 was a very "boring" fight. Canelo boxed smart, but let's face it, he wasn't trying to give the fans an "exciting" fight, he was trying to win. Landed 169 punches when isn't a lot when you consider GGG is a guy who is there to be hit, like when Dervychenko fought him he landed 240 punches. Dervychenko is more of an "exciting" fighter on that standard.

Let's let Saunders show up and put on a good performance first before we start complaining about any cards. The likelihood is that he's going to get his butt kicked, Canelo is operating at an elite level right now with his mix of physical prime plus high boxing IQ/experience.

"Exciting," the way most fans look at it, is a guy who throws a lot and lands a lot, always pushing the pace. But Canelo Alvarez doesn't really fight at a very fast pace. In fact, look at the stats of all of his fights, and you will see that he usually throws far fewer punches than his opponent, example is the GGG fights where in the rematch Alvarez threw 622 to Golovkin's 850. In the first fight, he only threw 505. In the Jacobs fight, he threw even less, 466, and in the Cotto fight he only threw 484.
Now, when you look at a truly "exciting" fighter like a Roman Gonzalez or Juan Francisco Estrada, they both threw over 1,000 punches each the other weekend.

That being said, I do NOT think he will come at 100%. And even if he does, Canelo might beat him. I actually really like this fight. BJS and Plant are 2 dudes who I think can genuinely beat Canelo. Not no Andrade/Charlo/Benavidez/Grandpa GGG. These 2 guys are the ones who can beat him.

This myth that Canelo can't lose a decision is r3tarded. Granted the myth has only been right so far, but the writing is on the wall that Canelo is barely edging fights & that's gonna go the wrong way for him sooner or later.

The GGG fights were just close fights that coulda gone either way. And let's not forget Canelo isn't 2-0 vs GGG. He only won 1 of the 2 fights. Can't really act like the cards were filled out before the fight when everyone's cards who works in the sport are super close more often than not just like the judges outside of that dumbass Byrd b^tch who's fooking up scorecards everywhere she goes from boxing to MMA.

There is no doubt in my mind that he is a very ACCURATE puncher and has some of the fastest hands in boxing, but despite all of that he kind of pot shots and isn't much output. I guess fans think it's "exciting" that he lands a large percentage of his punches, but they can't deny that he doesn't throw much.
