JMM/PBF weights...NOT the advantage some of you may think!

I've been doing some research on how much pure muscle JMM could safely gain and how much weight PBF could safely cut.

In Dinamita's case, what I found is that an athlete can put on about 2lbs of lean muscle per month (this does not include the extra weight from glycogen stores, extra fat deposits or extra fluid intake)...in JMM's case this would translate from 134lbs from Diaz fight to about 142lbs come weight ins for Sept 19th if you calculate the 2lbs*4months

In Money's case, an athlete should only be able to safely cut weight (weight-ins vs. day of fight) in the range of 8-12lbs (low end/high end). A rough breakdown of this would be about 3lbs from each of the following; fluid restriction, sweating, mini-fasting, and dropping a deuce (poo). totaling 8-12lbs safe.

Point? if JMM puts on all the muscle he should be at 142-143 for weight ins, as should PBF of course. BUT here's the kicker, with the weight cutting, PBF should only put on about 7-10lbs more (depending on how well he's been taking care of himself) while JMM in my estimate will probably come in at 147-148lbs fight night.

In closing, JMM 148lbs fight night VS. PBF 150lbs fight night...considering when PBF fought DLH PBF weighed in at 150lbs with a 154lbs limit and didnt even cut weight! AND JMM ALWAYS comes into a fight in top shape, is this still a big deal to you? thoughts please.

You're using math to try to prove something which has nothing to do with math.

Just because they weigh close to the same weight doesn't mean PBF isn't the bigger man. Their respective "natural" size has been determined by genes and how they've led their lives so far and PBF is the bigger man.

Pavlik can bulk up to 200 pounds and be the same size as everyone else but he will still be considered the smaller man because his body isn't used to being that weight.

Konstantin, I feel what you're saying. I was merely making the point that come fight night this isnt going to be some 143lbs JMM against a 155lbs PBF as some of the 'watch boxing' guys swear it is. DLH vs PBF is prime example of how PBF didnt even pass 150lbs without restriction...add to that he's going to have to cut weight after a 2 year layoff...
