    Cong**** Ortiz

Looked good and a good win. But be careful what you wish for. Terence Crawford is NOT Maurice Hooker. If the Spence or Porter fight doesn't happen, let's make it happen.

He looked not so good in round 4(?) I think? He lets himself get tagged too much. He's a big and strong guy but there's only so many times you can get tagged. Hooker is 5'11 and with an 80 inch reach so obviously that gave him some troubles, but I would like to see him work on his defense. Falling in love with your power is not the way to go.

A Danny Garcia fight would actually make sense imo. We'll see if DSG is truly done, and we'll if Ortiz can really hang with the big boys.

I agree but it's his night and I'm not going to be too hard. I'd rather see Porter fight Bud next and give Ortiz more time. I don't want people saying that Bud just beat some bum, look at how bad he got hit and rocked vs. Hooker, Bud cherry picked him since he look easy against Hooker.

 That was nowhere near as bad as Bud getting rocked and floored by Gamboa or Kavaliauskas. It wasn't even rocked, more like off guard.

I respectfully disagree. It's one thing to have a mental lapse and get caught...it's another to have somene diggin in ya a** who ain't supposed to. Vergil grew up 10 miles from me (even though I'm older than his pops) and I really like the kid, but he need to know chins are gonna get hella stronger at this stage. This is what shell-shocks some cats who don't have a plan B for that. It's like when Imam asked Stacy "what if my jab won't work"...Stacy talkin bout...."uhhh....it WILL work! Just keep throwing it" while sending his fighter out there to get knocked out. 'Even a Chris Van Heerden could potentially dog walk Ortiz...and he WILL run in to a boxer who will toy with him. That's the only thing that worries me is his style (a bit one dimensional) but I still want only the success for him.

Oscar not gonna put him in with a Danny Garcia. This is where we begin to talk about Levels. Let's remember, Ortiz is not yet grown in to 47 himself, so I'd like to see him against a Josesito Lopez or even a Broner, before fighting for a belt. The former will test his ability to adapt, the latter will see how he does with a real boxer (and his style is just made for boxers IMO)

              Danny moved up to 154!

And truth be told no longer in the elite class at 147.

He’s not ready yet. Crawford fans will be calling for it, no doubt.

Great performance from Ortiz jr. He broke Hooker down with those body shots and pressure. Too bad about the injury. The fight had heated up and both were exchanging punches. Great fight for both sides, Mo fought like a warrior and was easily the best opponent for the young Ortiz.

Ortiz looked to me like he still needs 1-2 more step up fights before trying to challenge Crawford. I lwould love to see fighters like Avenasyan and Porter on the schedule for him before trying to fight Crawford next year.
