Hes the most slick boxer of his era(not like Lara lame ass style) that's for sure(his punch stats prove it), he's miles better all around fighter than Whitaker was, Whitaker was a more skilled boxer but he couldn't punch his way out a wet paper bag & he didn't have Canelos chin.

I would really like that fight to happen because it would be intriguing but I don’t think Canelo and his team see any money or legacy in it due to Beterbiev having a very barren resume, being largely inactive, and being closer to 40 years old than 30 years old. So if Canelo fights the 36 year old, he’d be doing it literally only to please his critics. I find it really hard to believe that those critics pushing for this fight would become Canelo fans if he takes it. And I also have a feeling if Canelo does fight him and wins, Beterbiev’s age and resume will be brought up from Canelo critics. I can see a scenario where they would say “he waited until he got old” or “He’s lucky Beterbiev fights every 519 days”. There’s just so many possible excuses that can be made for Beterbiev. Thing is I think he’s really good and it would be a good tactical fight but I just don’t think he would be a good legacy fight. And def not money fight.

Beterbiev is too big for Canelo right now.

I literally just made this thread saying what I've been saying for ages,that Beterbieve is not the boogieman,hes not being ducked by Canelo & Canelo would beat him because hes tailor made for his style. I literally broke down how just because Beterbieve is the biggest "strongest" potential opponent who kod C level Gvozdyk the churlish lion,they coronate him the Kovalev killer & Canelo boogieman hes shook of, despite Kov accomplishing 10x more & despite him having tons of flaws & getting dropped by journeyman.
The thing is I think Beterbieve would beat most the cw champs at least,& possibly Bivol,but his style is the opposite of Canelos kryptonite.

I can't agree that this is a stylistic matchup that favours Canelo. GGG is a pressure fighter, and so is Canelo, and the two of them stood in the ring and traded, and many believe GGG was hard done by in at least one of those bouts. Regardless, nobody could argue that it wasn't close, those fights were definitely close and that's a fact.
Beterbiev is also a pressure fighter, who hits very hard, and has a great chin, is much bigger than Golovkin, and will put it on you for 3 minutes of every round.
I have the utmost respect for Canelo's body of work, and he might beat Beterbiev, but I think it is a bit presumptious of any person to state that they unequivocally know what the outcome of a fight between the two would be. My money would be on Beterbiev, but I wouldn't be 100% sure, and neither should anyone. Great fight, hope it happens one day.
