I think Johnson is a better fighter than Clinton Woods and was robbed against him at least once. Johnson won his fight fair and square. The draw should have been a win for Johnson, and the third fight was a little bit closer. And I also agree that Johnson is not as past it as Woods. But even so, I think Johnson's power is not on the level of Cloud's and he does not punch that much harder than Woods. Where I'm getting at is that Dawson can be hurt.

I think if Dawson fought Cloud Chad would have some attributes he could use to his favor like his reach advantage and I think his defense is a little bit better than Cloud's also even though he is hittable when he loses concentration like he does or goes through rest periods in rounds. Cloud would have to use his effective jab to get inside and work to the body and try to break Dawson down that way. And the fact that Cloud has better stamina and a more aggressive attitude along with his power is why I give him a big chance to beat Dawson. The speed disparity between these two guys is not that far apart either. Cloud puts good combinations together similar to the way that Dawson does with power behind them and the way that he goes to the body and finishes up top is really smart and impressive.

woods has heart and had a couple good points in the fight...but i tell ya what the look on woods face when cloud would hit him with combinations was like "jesus christ this lad hits hard"..cloud just needs to work on his defense and he will be a BAD MOTHER****ER..he reminded me of tyson the way he was putting combinations together to the body and up to the head

People need to consider that Cloud was coming off a layoff thanks to those pointless fights between Dawson and Tarver while he was the mandatory challenger. Cloud fought really good tonight taking that into consideration. I am glad that Dawson is rematching Johnson despite how dangerous Cloud is. I think both guys pose about the same amount of danger to him with the slight edge going to Johnson. Glen almost beat Dawson after all. I'm not one of these haters like Carnivore AKA Tunney saying Chad is a chicken **** for vacating his strap because of a Cloud fight not being marketable to the TV networks and the fact that HBO wanted a Johnson-Dawson fight.

why you bein a hater? The guy had 19 career fights, went in against a vet and got the job done to win his first title.

Woods was plenty game too, he fought hard and proved to be worthy opponent for the young Cloud.

Cloud is a guy you should want to do well, he's very TV friendly and quite honestly, there really aren't too many promising young fighters out there at LHW. He's exactly what we need.

It's been a while since I've seen Tarver's fight with Woods, but that could be a decent guage to see what kind of chance Cloud stands against Dawson I guess. One thing that Cloud does not have the luxury of is fighting on the outside because he is so damn short. That is what causes him to eat a lot of punches where as Tarver was able to stand on the outside and pot shot Woods. But Cloud gets the best out of what the cards have dealt him. He showed tonight that he is willing to work behind a damn good jab to get inside and cause havoc.

One thing that happened to Chad against a fighter with Woods-like power is him nearly getting stopped. I'm a huge fan of Glen Johnson but I don't think he punches that much harder than Woods and he had Dawson in big trouble in their fight. I think Cloud and Dawson would be a hell of a scrap.
I was sitting right behind Glen during this fight, and he was saying how he was proud of Cinton and how he took those big shots. But he also said how easy it was to hit Woods and if this was the Clinton Woods that had fought him it would've made him look like an all-time great

Cloud also has slow footwork and fights in a straight line. He's lucky to fight a punching bag tonight. Dawson will give Cloud plenty of angles and Cloud won't easily land his shots.

cloud kinda reminded me a James Kirkland a lil bit

obvious defensive holes, but just an aggressive beast in the ring

i look forward to seeing him fight some more.
