Funnily enough the two guys I felt would have the least success in the Pro’s were Joyce and Okollie and they’ve probably achieved the most out of the entire class thus far- so what do I know.

There’s another good fighter in our 2020-2021 Olympic squad called Peter McGrail, really fancy him to medal and do big things in the pro’s.
Yeah, I've seen McGrail fight for a while. He fought Shakur at the World Series of Boxing. Shakur won rather easily but McGrail flashed some.

I rate McCormick but I hate how late these guys turn pros. Rather then turn pro at the ages of 20-22 rather than 25-26.

Joyce has done very well and while Okolie has a spoiler style, it is very effective.

Yeah Shakur was too cute for him, I remember watching that on Boxnation a few years back.

Yeah I agree. Our amateur system tends to favour older fighters. For example Groves beat DeGale in the 2006 or 2007 ABA’s yet they still sent DeGale because he was older and more experienced. It proved to be the correct decision but you get my point. We tend to want fighters to remain in the GB system for a few years before we send them to major tournaments and as a result kids will either turn pro at 19-20 after winning national titles or will remain in the system fight internationally but not turn pro until they’re in their mid 20’s.

Fury is a good example of a guy who made the right decision turning pro early, he was the #2 HW on the podium squad behind Price in 2006-08 and the 2012 Olympic spot would have been his if he wanted to wait the four years out but instead he bet on himself and went pro with Fat Mick.

But yeah, at least we get it on DAZN over here.
Eubank Jr is always going to add intrigue regardless of his opponent (largely to due to his dad ) and therefore to an extent his opponent won’t help sales. But let’s not kid ourselves, if he was in a bigger matchup he wouldn’t be third or fourth on the card? What do we really expect to be 3rd in 4th because I don’t see many cards which do have 50/50 all the way down ; infact matchroom are probably the best at doing this (generally).

the card is obviously aimed at UK audience but any of the four (Taylor and Bivol too) could easily headline a normal Friday or Saturday night; and financially chisora vs Parker probably just can’t happen without ppv.

it’s not going to be a Joshua style appeal but it will sell and that’s the reason sky want it on ppv.

I like Chisora Vs Parker, I'm looking forward to that one.

The Eubank fight is a weird one. Fighting a fella who lost to Tyan Booth.

Chisora is always game, so no surprise he keeps getting all that fights. Smart man.

This card has a number of decent fights and it needed that to take into account chisora Parker isn’t for any belts etc. That said chisora and Parker is a really interesting fight and one most proper boxing fans (ignoring matchroom hate rtc) would say is a good matchup. I personally would’ve put it as the co headliner to Katie Taylor but given its a heavyweight matchup and it pulls interest I completely get it. I can see it easily selling 300k buys in the UK to be honest with the card, having Bivol and Eubank 3 and 4 makes it a decent card overall.
It's still a card full of mismatches, Why are you sticking up for it like you're the matchmaker?
