Sergio Mora said it well in recent broadcasts: Fighters aren't scared of Power, what worries fighters is all around boxing skills & speed & timing,ring iq,well roundedness.(paraphrased & added to it) a elite all around skillful fighter with decent power but great speed/defense will usually beat the best power/pressure fighter who kos all his lesser opponents. Speed & timing makes punches fly at a much greater velocity than slower, heavier shots from a supposed puncher.(the reason Wilders right Hand was so deadly was because of velocity,not strength or heavy hands,I was among few saying Fury could've kod Wilder 1st fight had he walked him down)
The reason Canelo kod 200 lbs Kov was speed & timing. That gets more kos than pure power,speed makes punches do more damage
Was remembering a thread I made in May of 2019,I was saying that Smith is not a bridge too far for Canelo & that Canelo to win by clear UD or TKO. There was a poll in that thread,where of course not a single of the most prominent Canelo detractors voted in Because it wasn't a anon poll & as usual they don't want to be made to eat crow for their hater ways. At the time the narrative was that Canelo was ducking big bad Callum Smith the giant that was too big & strong.
And that if he faced him he would get stopped. But I was arguing that Smith was tailor made for Canelo(the same way I've been saying the same thing about Beterbieve & many others) & there was only 2 detractors predicted Smith would beat Canelo,or that if Canelo doesnt drain him that he will body ginger.(they were speaking on behalf of the army of Canelo "haters" including the msm. )I said that he beats Kovalev when everyone was saying he was just throwing names out.
Fans are too simple minded. They see Beterbieve destroy the churlish lion Gvozdyk(whom was a C level fighter that lucked into that belt,that still gets respect for some reason despite having no heart & being all around rubbish & retired without much fights)
,So they coronate Artur the Kovalev killer,& the ginger boogieman.(despite Kovalev accomplishing 10x more(&I genuinely like Beterbieve since he went pro) They have done the same thing time & time again with Ggg to a lesser degree,& with Smith & others,Canelos entire mantle is full of vanquished boogieman scalps ffs, dating back to Kermit Cintron & Old Mosely when FMJ/Pac had just beat him.(Canelos every bday since 21 hes been scalping boogiemans) They don't pay attention to all the flaws,prior kds,etc. They just know Canelo hasn't faced them & their the biggest sized potential opponents,so therefore= Boogieman hes ducking.
I have no doubt that Canelo isnt the least bit afraid of Beterbieve, just like Smith his styles Canelos strength not kryptonite. Bivol imho would be a tougher opponent than Beterbieve,& I have no doubt once Canelo gets Undisputed he'll fight 1 of them.(he's running outta boogieman)
I am making this thread as a placeholder to go against the narrative on record. What say you?
