Half a chance Wilder will go back to rabbit punching club level blown up cruisers.
Not that I am a big fan of Wilder, but for objectivity sake, Wilder never ducked Povetkin. Ducking Whyte - i agree, but not Povetkin. Facts.

If we get Whyte v Wilder, Joyce vs Usyk and Joshua v Fury all this year I think most heavyweight boxing fans would be pretty pleased.

Sometimes this "ducking" label s a bit puzzling.

Wasn't wilder signed to fight povetkin but povetkin tested for PEDs?

Wilder agreed to fight Whyte, and cone to the UK for it, if hearn guaranteed Joshua was next.

Do neither fight happened but was either really a "duck"?

'Rankings on merit' this man is a lying cheating clown and this is obvious. Whyte has just been knocked unconscious and has fallen down to no.6 in the rankings , with the likes of Joyce, Ruiz , Ortiz and Usyk above him. So if Whyte were to win he is saying he would be reinstated again as interim champion with a recent record of loss by KO and a win. This over an undefeated fighters Joyce and Usyk , Ruiz a guy coming off a points defeat and Ortiz with a better record than Whyte. This is all pumped up by Eddie Hearn who didn't want Wilder and Joshua in the same ring and did everything to avoid it and used Whyte as the excuse. Remember old man Hearn ' if Joshua doesn't fight Wilder for the next ten years but carriers on wining then I'll take that'......hardly sounds like a team who wants the fight ! I would like to see Wilder walk through Whyte as I know he would but there's doubt it would be a fight made are real ranking merit.....just something Eddie Hearn and Prez want. Tyson fury really stuck it up the Hearns, he took on and beat KO artist Wilder something that they said they'd only do for 85% of the purse knowing anyone worth their salt as champion would walk away but it was worth it to see their little greedy faces ringside Ruiz 1 !

Trash fight. Wilder does not deserve that spot, inactive after a HUGE loss. Make whyte vs Usik ir something more competitive.

Wilder will be to whyte what Yildirim was to Canelo

Wilder was on his way to Russia, when Povetkin tested positive for PEDs. The WBC then canceled that fight.

As for Whyte. Wilder gave the man 2 chances for a fight as a voluntary. 1) If he was given the AJ fight next (which is completely within reason, as Hearn promotes AJ and Whyte, and it would've been for undisputed, as so many clowns are now keen on for some reason). 2) had Whyte fought and beat Luis Ortiz.

Hearn declined, and so did Whyte.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Dominick Brezeale also said he'd fight Whyte, and put his mandatory status on the line...Whyte again declined. See a pattern here?

Only a noob, or a complete moron, would say Wilder ducked Pedvetkin, or Dillan Whyte.

As if someone was trying to disrupt Whyte's preparation for Povetkin with this?

I’d agree that one can’t really argue that Wilder ducked Povetkin. But it’s worth noting that Wilder only signed on to that fight because it was his mandatory and came with a record high purse at the time. Since it fell through back in 2016, Wilder made no attempt to fight him or pretty much any other decent fighter for that matter. Compare that to Whyte calling out Povetkin when nothing was at stake, after chasing Wilder for years. Wilder may not have ducked in this case, but he has never chased any perceived challenge.

With regards to Whyte, he was ducked by Wilder 100% and that condition Wilder gave was pure BS. Regardless of what people say on here, Hearn doesn’t own AJ and can’t offer him on a plate like that..it’s a fight that would need extensive negotiation on its own merit. Did Wilder need any guarantees to fight Duhaupas, Washington, Szipilka or any other fighter for that matter?

The fact is Wilder avoided his biggest pay day at the time, exposure to the biggest boxing market outside the US and the opportunity to back AJ into a corner. If that’s not a duck then I don’t know what is.
