likely has to do with the fact that Canelo has dropped numerous titles to get out of fighting mandatories (GGG, Charlo & Derevy just off the top of my head) but was fine when it was Yildrim.

Fight Charlo/Derevy or jump up 2 weight classes and become one of only 4 boxers to win championships from super welter to light heavy? What's more appealing to you? If you were Canelo it makes way more sense financially and legacy wise to fight Kov (albeit faded) than someone like Derevy.
