There was no need for that fight to continue and for Ellis to take any more punishment. That's how serious injuries are sustained. Benavidez looks like he clearly has his weight under control. No excess weight around the waist anymore.

Truax had been stopped b4. Ellis, never. Truax is damn near 40, Ellis is 31. Plant never hurt Truax. Ellis claims he wasnt hurt but we all saw he was on multiple occasions. Plant gets beat by Benavidez, and why he made any and every excuse to avoid him when David had a belt.

They tried to make the fight. It was Benavidez’s people that didn’t want the fight at that time. When Plant was saying people outside the ring didn’t want to make the fight I always thought he meant Haymon. But he said in an interview prior to his last fight that it was Benavidez people that didn’t want the fight. They weren’t scared or anything they were just trying to build up the fight. But to say Plant never wanted Benavidez is false.
