Roman Gonzalez Is An All Timer, Unfortunate Decision

This is the correct answer. Especially the bold.
Its because judges are scoring each rd as its own separate fight however close,& fans like to swap rds in very close fights. A fighter can lose by 1 punch each rd,but still lose wide (I personally had it 115-113 Estrada, but Chocolatito could've won imho by same margin depending on scoring. I think many ppl score punches that are not clean & accurate the same as they do those that are,& they also oftentimes don't give close rds to the guy who is landing the cleaner, more accurate hard punches, just because the other guys throwing more slop.)
Also, people (especially on NSB) get swerved by the "Pacquiao Plan" which is when a guy does jack ish for two and a half minutes of a round, then lands one or two hard shots in the last few seconds and NSB gives that person the round.Comment

I was rooting for Estrada! Mind you I was bit prejudiced not because of race but I thought no way "Chocolatito" is beating "SSR" after seeing the 4th round knockout.
Estrada sure seemed shocked when they announced him the winner. I want to see the rubber match. Pay SSR some stand aside money. Mr Hearn do the right thing.Comment

I didn’t score the rounds. I’ve scored fights live plenty and it’s just not as fun to watch that way for a lot of people. Any debate on that? There’s no doubt they were very evenly matched. Neither guy dropped the other or deserved a 10-8 round, caused a cut, or lost points on a foul, and had both had relatively unmarked faces. Both were teeing off at each other till the last moment so neither was wilted more than the other. These fights are always going to be hard to score. Chocolatito is a fan favourite for a lot of people too let’s not forget. He came forward most of the night but he never could stop Estrada from firing back. He didn’t break him down like we’ve seen Choco do to others in the past. Choco’s feet, hands, defence, whole technique is noticeably not at the level he once was at. Sometimes a fighter is competing against his prior self. When you were once the top P4P fighter, a tough gutsy close round can look like more of a loss for you than the other guy.Comment

absolute robbery but gonazlez is NOT an atg. a lot of ok to mediocre wins. good champ, but not a legend or ATG.
- yafai sucks
- rungvisai was a tune up/cherry pick gone wrong
- cuadras arguably beat him or draw
- arroyo = meh/mediocre
- viloria past his prime no longer champ or top guy in the divsion
- yaegashi mediocre
etc. etc.
only good win is estrada first fight. even then estrada was meant to be another tune up/cherry pick gone wrong.

I had Sor Rungvisai winning their first fight, just, and obviously the second was conclusive
however I thought chocolatito won last night. There was close rounds though, so it’s not the worst decision. I just thought he edged it.Comment

I think Roman who is the color of chocolate calling him Chocolito is very hurtful and savagely racist term. I will seek out a safe space where I can ponder this supremely racist termComment

Mora who is a hardcore Mexican fighter supporter was abnormally quiet after the decision. Estrada knew he got a gift by his body language and the interview. Even those DANZ commentators at the end of the broadcast were making a case that Estrada won to spin the perception. That team really sucks and are a bunch of cheerleaders for the house fighter.
I give credit to both guys for putting up such an entertaining fight.Comment
