Don't know why people continue to pay to see Mudine fight. I guess his brash persona sells

Making this fight in the first place was a disgrace, a pure money grabber by Zerafa involving a has been who can't say no. But a certain type of 'fan' will always pay to see Mundine get beat up.

Thank father time that Mundine is finally hanging up his gloves. Many fans here in Australia didn't take to his import of American trash-talking and bombast in order to hype a fight, not to mention the still present undercurrent of racism that still exists from some sections of the community.

Australian sporting culture likes its heroes stoic, phlegmatic, respectful, and warm-hearted. Any brashness, over-confidence or hubris is met with malice.

I trained at the Elouera Mundine gym in the early 2000s, and witnessed a very different Anthony Mundine - softly spoken, polite and gentle. He possessed lightning speed and tried to emulate the style of RJJ, who's father he employed from time to time, as well as his former Middleweight contender father who fought Carlos Monzon.

It seemed Mundine Jr inherited his father's weak chin, as when his Mayweather style defence and fast footwork failed him, he had no hope of firing it out toe to toe.

Besides that, he had a fairly successful career, for he switched from a successful Rugby League career to boxing, and almost certainly helped to promote the fledgeling sport post-Tzsyu.

Zerafa did nothing to further his brand or claim to fight Tzsyu, other than Tim alleged promise to fight him.

Tszyu is already busy building his brand in the states, chasing a title fight likely next year.

"This is a legacy fight for me," stated Zerafa. "[For] 15 years, I've been waiting for this moment... I got it and delivered."

The sport is embarrassed for him. 15 yrs to beat a beyond washed up bum

I don't believe Anthony will ever fight again . There is no legacy for Michael in this debacle. Mundine should have definitely retired after the ill advised boiling down to junior middle some years ago . The 2014 Hatley fight should have been the end for Anthony Mundine.
