Plant seems content with the money he's making and he doesn't seem very motivated to fight on a regular basis

Could make big fight but needs alot of time to rest after cruising to easy wins against unheralded opponents even though he is in his physical prime.

Canelo is no-nonsense, disciplined as hell, and ready to walk through hell to get what he wants.

Some of these other guys are soft and need everything perfect. Otherwise they can't perform.

Alvarez's recent history is to fight 2x a year.
          2015-2-fights
          2016-2 fights
          2017-2 fights
          2018 2 fights
          2019- 2 fights
Looks to be some kind of pattern here.

I think plant is carefully managing his career and listening to the people around him. Seems to be making great money. Has a solid following and looks to be on his way to superstardom( as far as athletes in boxing go). So it’s a bit of a no risk approach. He should fight again before September. A top 10 guy would be great. His performances are good and this would help bolster his claims. I don’t think it’s a issue with prep. I just think he listens to his manager the same way he takes instruction from his corner during fights.

Canelo is no longer with GBP. I would say the DAZN deal PLUS the fallout (terminated contract), changed the circumstances for Canelo to HURRY in wanting that initial value, especially since COVID Canelo has had to acknowledge the pay cuts. He was taking $34mil for some fights. Imh, Canelo is fulfilling that equal value by taking more fights.

I think the perfect opponent for Plant before the Canelo fight would be Danny Jacobs. A common opponent with Canelo who I’m sure Plant would beat in more dominant fashion than Canelo did. It would drum up more interest for their fight. Right now Plant looks pretty bad in the court of public opinion.

I agree with you on the public’s opinion of plant. Jacobs would be a great fight in between. But at this point, just about anyone would do. As long as they’re better then Truax. But I really do like that match up a lot. I wouldn’t be opposed to Anthony Dirrell either. Plant has a ton of options. He should use them.

These PBC guys just aren't active. PBC needs to go ahead and die. Let the fighters scatter into GBP and Top Rank already.
