Juan Manuel Marquez says he weighs 143 pounds rightnow.

    from the interview transcript.

Q: One last follow-up for Juan, is there any way to quantify how much weight you've gained either in pounds or kilos or are you not clear on how much you've gained in terms of bulk?

Juan Manuel Marquez: With the postponement of the fight it was originally scheduled for July and then moved over to September. It actually helped us to continue working on building muscle. Right now I'm approximately about 65 kilos. And I'm very happy. I mean its all muscle and I feel good. I feel strong.

Just hope he doesn't peak too soon, or the fight doesn't get postponed again.

jmm should be able to maintain 143 easy... I wouldn't be surprized if jmm went down to 138 lbs or something.

that would look odd tho, considering this is a welterweight fight, for him to come in below jr. welter. im guessing he will come in at 141 at the weigh in, who knows maybe hell just weigh in 143 at the weigh in, beats having to not drink water or eat.

We put to much stock in 4 or 5 pounds. If he loses it wont be because Floyd is so big. To me fighters only drop wait before a fight when they ass should move up. My boy never has to worry about wgt and he excels against bigger fighters so please dont make pre-excuses for Marquez losing.

                  I don't give a **** what he weighs.

The issue is, does he still have enough speed to keep Mayweather honest.

Is he in good enough shape, to hang, take some shots, and counter.

If he weighs 150 and does that, all this doesn't matter.

If he's 140 and weight drained, he's just setting himself for a long painful ass whipping.

He just needs to be in shape, and retain quickness and not get crazily brave.

Doesn't matter what his weight is, if he's in shape.

Floyd is the naturally bigger man, he's a full Welter at this point. Marquez just moved up to Lightweight a year ago. Floyd is bigger.
