Tank Davis Chasing Greatness, Wants Prograis

Tank is just flip flopping, he's throwing out the names of the big boys and then fighting guys below them. He is not interested in testing himself, he is cherry picking his way through his career right now trying to con the casual fans that he is something special and he is doing something special. He has clout chased and name dropped nearly every top fighter from 126 to 140 so far and faced none of them.
He is also picking up secondary trinket titles and then having himself labelled "world champion" off those trinkets. He isn't chasing greatness he's making deluded idiots and part time fans that he is.
Its all business with Tank and his team, fair enough, the smoke and mirrors, the BS are not there for us, they are there for the casuals so they can believe they buying the PPV of the next American great. Obviously we can see through that smoke, we can see he's ducking all the serious threats, all the best fighters in the divisions he's fighting in.Last edited by DaNeutral.; 03-11-2021, 04:47 AM.Comment

However long it works for. His fan base is currently telling him on Twitter that Prograis is “too small” for Tank, and is a bum because he lost to Josh Taylor. He has to attach a future credible name at 140 to deflect from the fact he"ll be fighting a journeman in barrios for a meaningless belt and a hallow "3 division champ" status. After a run of dragging up shot fighters, some of you guys actually believe they're going to throw him in with Regis?? Come on now lol
look how long it worked for Broner.Comment

If he ends up fighting Barrios, no criticism from me. Thats a decent fight for his first fight at 140. Of course, I would have preferred a fight vs Teofimo, Garcia, Haney or Lomachenko, but Barrios is alright.
But he was rightfully criticized for his previous level of opposition.
Pedraza was a decent opponent, but then he fought:
- Walsh: typical euro level fighter
- Fonseca: one-dimensional, stiff fighter without a single good win
- Cuellar: coming off a loss, more than 16 months layoff, moving up in weight class, tailor made style
- Ruiz: moving up in weight class, tailor made style
- Nunez: just a low-level fighter who never fought outside panama
- Gamboa: old, chinny, shot
- Santa Cruz: again undersized, basic volume style without power doesnt work when you are a significant smaller fighter.
=> two top 10 fighters in a span of 4 years as a champion.Comment

That is not a huge money fight enough to hold Crawford and the options they have in TR are limited. Crawford might be content getting paid so much for fighting low tier fighters. He has not even one great win. Solid wins but nothing great.Comment

Chasing greatness? - Then why not be looking for the Taylor v Ramirez winner who will hold all the belts, instead of chasing a guy who got beat by one of them.
I think Tank is a good fighter but he’s already starting to approach late 20’s and far too content on not fighting the real top guys and chasing regular titles.Comment

Prograis beats his ass very bad.
Won`t happen anyway. Prograis fights Redkach next, probably at 147 I guess, which means Prograis is tasting the waters at ww.Last edited by JakeTheBoxer; 03-11-2021, 05:10 PM.Comment
