Caleb Plant is listed as 6'1" tall and Benavidez is listed as 6' 1 and 1/2'" but looked 2'' taller than Plant. He is a tall guy with a big frame. He should move up to light heavyweight and then to Cruiser in a few years. But he would rather fight tomato cans at 168 hoping the 5'7" Canelo picks him for a fight. The guys -- Charlo, Plant, Benavidez, Jacobs, Andrade, and the rest need to fight each other.

This guy and his brother Jose has discipline issues. Jose has basically thrown his career away, David really need to start stepping up his career.

I think if Charlo or Jacobs wont fight him next. He should take that 175 opportunity but negotiate to fight 1 and then fight for the title

I think his brother suffered some injury or something. I was wondering why he had not fought since the Crawford fight and read that he got hurt training. Don't know how long ago that was.

But yeah, David has been nothing but undisciplined. I really hate the 168 pound division. Everyone is just waiting for the Canelo payday. Plant isn't going to take on anyone threatening or may just sit out until he gets the Canelo fight.

Charlo vs Benavidez for later this year should be the fight PBC makes. But if Benavidez wins this fight, he is the mandatory for Canelo.........So good chance he also waits it out until he gets that big pay day. Yawn..................

Definitely hasn't lived up to any of that in the pros. Has gotten shot and injured and hasn't been consistent at all. I can't recall the last performance he actually looked good in.

We didn't get Plant vs Benavidez, we didn't get Smith vs BJS, we didn't get Smith vs Plant or Benavidez vs Smith etc. We get no top match ups so the fighters have undefeated records but are unproven.

Canelo may fight Plant and become undisputed and then decide to drop some belts or possibly move up. Benavidez vs Charlo would be a hell of a match up and the winner would be in good position to get another big fight. If it is a great fight, then even the loser will still be in the hunt and can get a big fight shortly afterwards.
