Why did Cotto give Margarito the rematch

I remember Cotto saying he would never give Margarito another dollar to make off of his name. So why did he give him the rematch then?

Was it Cotto just being Cotto and that he saw Margarito had a busted eye from Pacquiao which is why he gave him the rematch? Cotto does have a history with selecting injured fighters: Foreman with the leg, Martinez with the knee, heck at one point I even remember Cotto talking a possible fight with Marquez(I guess Cotto saw what the steroids did to Marquez's legs so maybe that's why he was interested)

Another thing, that Margarito who came to fight Pacquiao, I think that version beats that Cotto from the rematch and stops him again.

Cotto was being his typical self and fading in the end during that rematch, and that was with a busted eye Margarito, what more if it was that Margarito that fought pacquiao
