Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson: Herring Will Beat Frampton, But I'll Probably Fight For Vacant Belt

Shakur Stevenson expects Jamel Herring to beat Carl Frampton in their upcoming fight for Herring's WBO junior lightweight title. Stevenson also anticipates that he'll fight for that championship in his next fight, just not against Herring. The former WBO featherweight champ thinks Herring will move up from the 130-pound division to the lightweight limit of 135 after defeating Frampton on April 3 in Dubai.

If I was herring I would unify with Valdez. That would be a big fight that is easy to make. Not sure what wbo rules are regarding unifications and mandatories but I would just vacate the wbo and fight for the wbc.

I wouldn't count the Irishman out, when Frampton is pumped up for a fight,he usually gives great performances so im gonna say The Jackal wins, and it will be his 3rd division championship

Let's not rule out the Jackal. He's much the better boxer, he's only at a size disadvantage. Frampton has a good chin and Herring isn't a big puncher. If Frampton can take Herring's shots better than Herring takes his then he's the bigger puncher in the fight. I think Frampton will look to land often to the body from the get go. I also wouldn't count out Frampton taking the Stevenson fight if he wins. Warrior.

The winner is going to face Valdez. It's a big money fight. It'll be a unification fight. Stevenson has no belt so it wouldn't make sense to fight the kid. ESPN would be idiots if they don't ask to market two champions fighting eachother.

Shakur should be going straight for the Valdez fight. The WBO been playing games with the while Frampton-Herring thing so leave them alone. Sure the Valdez fight would be bigger if it was a unification but Shakur still doesnt have a fight scheduled and the Frampton fight doesn't even happeb until next month. Unless the WBO strips Herring right now and Shakur get fight for the vacant belt, he doesn't need to wait. Top Rank could have let him get in on April 24th with Navarette but once again they bs when it comes to certain fighters
