  • Comments Thread For: Dirrell: I Don't Want Benavidez Rematch, I Want Title Fight!

Regardless of how things played on Saturday, Anthony Dirrell was never interested in following the proposed tournament structure surrounding his own fight. A sanctioned WBC super middleweight title eliminator with Kyrone Davis ended in a 12-round draw for Dirrell, a former two-time titlist who hopes to once again fight for a belt in 2021. Saturday's outcome didn't help that cause any, with the three judges left to split the verdict in failing to produce a winner in the PBC on Fox main event from Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

Dirrell is done IMO he is a clash heads or snapping punch away from another terrible cut and on the eyelids that's a hell of a spot to get massive cuts over and over

Dirrell would put up a better fight than all these scared cherry picked punching bags that clenelo has been facing.

Jesus Christ, no. You were given a ****ing inactive middleweight to fight for an eliminator and you couldn't even do that. Just retire and go away.

Why retire and go away? Dirrell usually always brings it even though he clearly isn't elite or anything right now. He is fine fighting lower top 10 level opponents or even prospects if he wants to.

But a Benavidez rematch or a title not? Laughable.

I'm originally from Detroit, and would normally back fighters with ties to Michigan....except the Dirrell brothers. I don't know if it's the "stay down, stay down" attitude, or what. Now this one wants a title shot after getting a draw lol.
