He may very well be the consensus pound for pound best in a rather weak era of boxers, but not because of beating Yildirim. Canelo has a bit of greatness, I think so, and his best win is over Golovkin.

Eddie says he's the best he's seen up close. Did he not watch Mayweather and other great boxers over the last 34 years, up close?

People want to see Canelo vs Charlo and Benavidez, not to say that Saunders and Plant aren't good, skillful opponents. Don't blame Canelo for fighting his mandatory. It's not his fault they made that guy the number one contender.

Having said that, he didn't bother with a mandatory at middleweight.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Now that the Floyd-Manny era is pretty much over, no one comes close to Canelo not just in one aspect, but all aspects of his career.

Whether you're using Resume, Skills, or both as guidelines, he tops them all.

You guys are all wrong. On Youtube a bunch of professional analysts all have some guy named Beyonce as #1 pfp and the face of the sport.

Lol what's with the Yildrim talk? That win hasn't pushed Canelo into the number 1 spot he was already there.

Then again Spence beat a dragged up lightweight in Mikey Garcia, tried to KO him but didn't and ppl were pushing him to be top 2 P4P off the back of it.

Garcia a way better fighter than Yildrim but Garcia ain't no Welter.

Although I agree Canelo is P4P number 1 the article makes it sound like beating Yildrim puts him there. Anybody in the top 10 wouldve beat that version of Yildrim Saturday night. I'm not even sure Canelo broke a sweat.

Alvarez does not have many gears, and lacks movement.

He is a great fighter, but he is a level below fighters such as Mayweather, Roy Jones Junior, even Hopkins in ability.

Eddie Hearn: "There's no debate that Canelo Alvarez is the pound-for-pound number one and he continues to fight the best"

How does he continue to fight the best after just fighting Yldrim?

Also, the no debate crowd: I don't think you understand how P4P works. A purely-hypothetical, subjective accolade will always be up for debate.
