No Problem With Canelo Fighting BJS But……

Did anyone notice how flat the promo video for their fight fell yesterday? The crowd wasn't buzzing at all and I bet a solid amount of the fans didn't even know who BJS was. I'm not really sure that video should have even been played after the fight since it is featuring another relatively unknown Brit. That's two in three fights for Canelo. I wonder if the UK was back open and allowing fans in stadiums that the fight wouldn't take place there? Could put it on Sky PPV and put it on DAZN stateside.

Still though, Canelo’s road to undisputed rolls on. First BJS and then Plant in September.

Venue was mostly Hispanics (Cubans, Mexicans, Puerto Rican’s, Dominicans). You can tell by how loud they went with that Latino Pop concert. Wouldn’t be surprised if Erislandy Lara was there in the crowd dancing naked with Vanes Martirosyan doing the calypso. So of course they wouldn’t know who BJS is. They know more about Scarface characters even though they hadn’t watched it from the days of VHS

It's a good fight but unless Canelo destroys this guy I don't wanna hear anyone talk about how he's the pound for pound king again. Just another proof of every time Canelo stepping up to fight a B level fighter or higher he's in a close fight or one he should have lose

Why does he have to destroy BJS? And define "destroy" here? Like drop BJS multiple times and sweep him 12-0 or even stop him?

Why does this only apply to Canelo? He's soooo good that no one should even be able to be semi-competitive with him?

I have Canelo winning relatively easy but can see BJS winning a rounds. He's just not active enough and won't be able to hold Canelo off of him.

It doesn't "only" apply to Canelo, that's what you have to do if you want to be the undisputed best in the sport. If you call yourself the best, you get held to the highest standards point blank period. But the fangirls that doesn't seem to be enough for them, just fighting good comp and eeking out a questionable win seems to make you the undisputed king.

So we shouldn't be hearing any talk about Terence Crawford being the P4P king, right? Since he didn't destroy Kavaliuskas?

You do realize that the more top fighters you face, the more competitive the fights would be, right? You think Crawford is just walking through Spence, Porter, Thurman etc? So what if Canelo has close fights here and there? He's facing yet another top 5-7 SMW in May and another top one in September. Not all those fights are going to be Canelo destroying his opponents. If Canelo fought Charlo or Andrade, would you hold it against him if he won but didn't walk through those two?

Saunders is a very talented boxer but he’s also a total nobody in terms of relevance outside of the boxing ring.

BJS is not known in America AT ALL I'm sure that has a lot to do with it! BJS only getting this shot because he has a Belt and Canelo wants to Unify 168

Definitely. Nothing wrong at all with Canelo fighting BJS next. I'm just saying, that promo vid didn't hit AT ALL and the crowd really didn't know what was going on LOL. If it was a promo to say Canelo vs GGG III? The stadium would have exploded but BJS is just so unknown here the fans didn't even react. May have been better for BJS to actually attend the fight and get in the ring afterwards. I mean even that wouldn't have gotten a great reaction or anything, but it would have been better than playing that promo vid.
