Right. Canelo is at least fast tracking his fights which is actually a great precedent for boxing. The last time he said he was going to fight four times in a year didn’t come close. This fight was annoying from the over produced entrance, the cabana club night feel and the overall lack of effort/ability from the opponent. I’m not one to believe in fight fixes but if I was, id think his opponent was told not to do anything that could risk the BJS fight, i.e. cause a cut. But in truth he was just overmatched I’m sure. Canelo can make you pay for trying. Still I hated the whole “euro” style rap dance, pyrotechnic long ring entrance. I used to admire that most American location fights seemed to get down to business. The time for talk was over. No need for big video packages and long winded interviews. Fast ring walks from point A to point B. Sometimes less is more. I hope this isn’t becoming the norm.
