Yea good comparison fight. I think you might be right.

And yea there are a lot of quality prospects on this card that could be players a few yrs from now.

Interestingly, I looked at Matchrooms stable to see what Mexican or Mexican-American fighters Hearn could have put on this card and was shocked that he has essentially no Mexicans; Estrada and Canelo, that's it.

How the **** does Matchroom USA plan to make any impact on boxing in North America with no Mexicans?
Hearn just did an interview saying he wants to sign a boatload of Mexican fighters to his promotion.

I mean he coulda did that outta the gate if he wanted to & didn't care about quality. Idk if it matters all that much if they aren't names or could become names. Hell I think he does got a couple guys who could become names, but thats a gamble that could pay off or not pay off a few years down the line.

But yea the problem with signing folks is almost everyone worth a damn is locked into a promotional deal so you gotta wait til guys are free agents to acquire them. And that doesn't happen too often with all these extensions & devil you know thought processes boxers have. Thats why Roc Nation had problems. Thats why DAZN has issues despite acquiring a few of the biggest names in boxing. And thats why Zuffa Boxing or Triller or anyone else who decides they wanna jump into boxing is gonna have to play a long ass game of acquiring top tier talent to make a **** in the sport.

Boxing would be much better off if every deal was a one off situation. And the reality is it is like that the fighters are just in denial that their contract can't be thrown in the trash by a promoter if they lose or go get arrested for the wrong type of crime or someone accuses them of something that may or may not be true or who knows what else. So its like a leash tying boxers to promoters without tying the promoter to the boxer if the promoter doesn't wanna be. Promoters got too much power.

The main event should be short but action-packed while it lasts. The comparisons to the James Kirkland fight are exactly on point, that's the type of scrap I'm expecting anyway.

Umm...I wasn't actually aware the fight was today. I guess the increased number of Canelo threads should've been an indication. It is a trash fight, so I've got an excuse.

Only thing I'm really looking forward to on the undercard at all & in any way is Keyshawn Davis' pro debut & apparently Marc Castro is fighting a ex-UFC guy.

Hopefully something turns out to be fun doe. I'm rooting on the co-main or the HW fight becoming more fun than I'm expecting.

And Canelo is fun to watch hitting a bag so that's what it is as long as it lasts. Feel like this is a moral loss if Mr Robot sees the 5th round.
I dunno bruh, Zhang makes Joe Joyce look like Roy Jones Jr. I did want to see the Davis debut, but I'll probably just check it out another day. Gonna watch a Kurasawa flick with the wife tonight.
