Canelo’s Gripe is always EXCLUSIVELY towards ESPN/Hispanic critics, nothing more

Here’s the reality, Canelo’s English isn’t really good nor does he really make the effort to learn English like Morales, Marquez, or PAC. Canelo is simply a brut and bland cowboy.

Canelo’s exclusive drama has always been with ESPN Deportes affiliates for the last 11 years. It all started when Canelo challenged Juan Manuel Márquez before 2010. Back then Canelo was blacklisted from Mexican boxing since Nacho Beristain was and still is The Godfather of Mexican training. Since Marquez had gained respect with the PAC series, and there were no known bigger class Mexican fighters, Canelo’s role in Mexican boxing, traditionally, wasn’t convincing.

faced forward years later to GGG 1 2015-2016, ESPN deportes said Canelo to fight GGG. Marquez, Chavez, Feitelson - all with their multi million Hispanic following - were influenced for anything they said towards Canelo. This is why you get instigating TMZ NSB aliases like “Miguel Rivera” still hoping to influence North American or English fans that a narrative exists against Canelo. You can see it with out of context quotes. In the end, Canelo is a good guy and that will outweigh the propaganda against him because it gets old and Canelo keeps doing his time at the prime level.

Feitelson - has half the followers of Canelo on Twitter. He’s the equivalent of Skip Bayless against Mayweather with a following believing him for whatever he says. These guys get paid to stir controversy and play the antagonist role in sports media. Then you’ve Marquez who still doesn’t acknowledge Canelo because he called him out on a fight back when he was at Welterweight, very long ago. Plus Mexico has rival states as usual, so the Capital Mexico does have its ego against Guadalajara. Barrera and Marquez represent the Capital City Mexico.

So again, when Canelo says “critics” he’s simply referring to Feitelson, ESPN, Marquez. They are the defacto along with Box Azteca. Whatever they say affects the Mexican fans. But the times are changing.

and last but not least, Feitelson and Marquez have Crawford #1. ESPN deportes has to follow the North American P4P list because it’s a lower hierarchy from the main branch.

this is the context Canelo is referring to, not North American critics.

Canelo would have a lot less criticism leveled against him he didn't impose weight restrictions and other dubious manuvers on his opponents.

Well 10lb morning weigh in limits is acknowledged and practiced by the IBF. Some fans don’t like it when Canelo imposes the same rule against bigger foes moving up. In fact Canelo didn’t get credit with Callum Smith for not applying the morning rule. This is why Canelo states whatever he does his haters won’t care.

in fact some fans have no idea how to contextualize catchweights or think for fight by fight basis. For example, with GGG, Canelo had no pull with any stipulations regarding physicality because GGG was the reigning Champion and they had to acknowledge K2 demands.

if we think of Khan, imagine if Canelo gave him a 160 fight the way GGG gave Brook. We all know Canelo would beat Khan regardless, the same way GGG would best Brook regardless. The difference was that Canelo acknowledged a catchweight with Khan. GGG would’ve still been under Middlewieght rules for 155-160 catchweight negotiations. GGG gave nothing to team Brook.

Regardless if Brook or Khan made any sense, one fighter acknowledged the disadvantage to the challenger. You guys can act dumb all you want but 5lbs make a difference.

and regarding Lara, Kirkland or Angulo. Those exhibition fights mean nothing since they were all the same size. What disadvantage was there with Caneloweight at 155? There was no title for those fights. And having to NOT shed 1lb of water is perfect for any those boxers competing at 154.

then if the essence is to say Canelo chose not to campaign at 160 in those times could be applied to any boxer now, even P4P, who is draining to make weight instead of moving up. If Crawford walks around 170lbs, he can easily compete at 154. Then the domino effect is why doesn’t Jermell Charlo compete at 160 and not drain for 154? Or why doesn’t GGG go, or never went up, to 168 when he still drains for 160.

with all these variables there’s absolutely no reason to hate on Canelo. I think fans hate that he fights somewhat effortlessly and they want to see harder challenges. Therefore, why isn’t that standard applied to any other boxer? It’s not complicated. Lol. It’s just that Canelo is held to a different standard, and LDBC Haymonites instigated all that in that GGG fans like yourself too like to instigate it because you were influenced by the hate.

I'm not a fan of catchweight fights especially for titles. .. It goes all the way back to when SSR fought Donny Lalonde for the SM and LH titles. I haven't seen any reason to change my mind. By the way I was a fan of SSR and Lalonde.
