No fighter owes mayweather anything. Hey Ellerbe, are you high dude??
Nobody even cares much when mayweather 'retired' since everyone knows it's just a gimmick. He just thought that with his 'retired' status he will still regain his popularity when he comes back. Unfortunately for him, there is someone more charismatic than him who took over as the P4P best. BTW the only reason why he got high PPV buys is with his last two fights is that both his opponents were far more popular than him and the fans of the opponets were the one who purchased the PPV in the hope of seeing them try to bust mayweather's ass. He is also lucky that those fights happened before the onset of the economic downturn in the US and UK. I will bet that the PPV results for his coming bout with marquez will do between 300-500 PPV buys only.

he has a point. right before he retired if u wanted a big money fight u had to go to him. when he left that opened the market up for other fighters. i also think having his fights in movie theaters is a good idea.

He was the universally recognized number one pound-for-pound boxer on the planet. He was (and still is) undefeated with a record of 39-0, 25 KOs. He had won titles in five separate weight divisions and was number one at the box office. His May 2007 fight against Oscar De La Hoya shattered all of boxing's established pay-per-view records. His bout against Ricky Hatton later that year grossed millions here and in the United Kingdom.

At age 30, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. went out on top as the King of boxing. And now he's ready to return, “...to reclaim my throne” he wrote on his Twitter page yesterday.

In the short time that Mayweather was away, several big fights came together involving Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley and Antonio Margarito. All those fighters engaged in high-profile, money-making fights that allowed them to move up in the pound-for-pound rankings, win titles, and occupy the slots that Floyd once did. [details]
I'm not thanking Floyd for shiet, like he IS boxing? Come on, the dude is an ass and any other big fight out there could be made but it would be Floyd standing by watching others make the dough too.

He acts like he is owed something and he is boxing's biggest star when he has been everywhere doing everything EXCEPT boxing in a boxing ring for the past 2 years. I'm tired of his mouth and Ellerbie's twisting of the truth to make Money look good because the more they spurt off at the mouth, the more I want to see Money ko'd for his actions.
