Cotto got a huge Christmas present in November that night at Madison Square Garden. Got outlanded in power punches and retreated in the championship rounds. The only one I had him winning was the 11th and he blew his energy winning that round and did absolutely nothing in the 12th. Mosley ****s little Kneeguel in a rematch. Exactly. Mosley proved what an overrated fighter he is by allowing someone on Cotto's level to stay competitive with him. A true ATG like Floyd Mayweather would never allow that to happen, even on an "off night."

The media and the boxing establishment have always overrated Mosley cuz he's willing to act like their pet. Instead of always speaking the truth to power like Floyd does, Mosley just smiles and says what they want him to say, just like Joe Frazier in the '70s. The people that have issues with Cotto have issues with all his fights. The true boxing fan will give credit to a fighter he might not like, as some do. Cotto won clearly, I had 116-112. He beat Mosley with pressure in the first part of the fight then outboxed him in the last rounds. To me it wasn't a close fight Cotto was the clear winner it was competitive.

As a huge Shane fan, I believe he had an off night. He just couldn't pull the trigger that night. I had it 7-5 for Cotto and it could have been a draw also. There were a couple close rounds. Mosley looked a little tired in the middle rounds. I also believe that Mosley thought it was going to be a brawl. Cotto suprised him with his boxing that night.

If they would have fought a rematch anytime after that fight. I would have favored Shane and still do.

Also if that was the best version of Cotto. I would have felt bad for him against a Prime Mosley.

Cotto won easy for me. I'm black, I like Shane (not a hugger though), but he lost bad. The man was hella confused on what to do throughout the fight and was consistently being beat to the punch thwarting any momentum he kept managing. When he saw the bout getting away from him, he did the natural thing and made a fight of it, but there was no plan for Miguel by him and his dad. They clearly went in there thinking they were going to knock him out after seeing Judah bother him early imo.

In fact, look at Shane's face in the corner at the end of round 5. He's spent almost the first half of the bout trying to put Cotto's lights out and he's already behind. Not really any combinations going on. The expression on his face says it all... he can't believe that he's in a real fight. Cotto wasn't supposed to be that good. For the first time during round 6 he switches gears and tries to box instead..
