He told me one time before that he would move down. He weighed in at 137 and came into the ring at 140. I know he could make it. I actually think he could make more money there and be the undisputed champ. The only guy who could give him some trouble is Castillo but he is getting older and Chop's southpaw stance would give him alot of trouble. I think he would KO Chico, the Diaz boys, and any of the guys from 130 who would move up. He could make more money fighting any of those guys then the chump change they give him at 140. Some of you probally think that Chico would KO him but Chico always has problems with boxers and a southpaw would be even worst. What do you guys think?
Chop Chop at 135?

He could fight Cotto's brother Jose Miguel Cotto 25-0-0 17KO's

I agree with everything you said, I have been thinking about that since Saturday when I saw Chops weight. Nice post, Castillo is the only guy who could beat him and I think again your right by saying that Chico would get ko'd...Chico hates guys who hit him with **** he can't see...Corley would do that!Comment

If Corley goes back to boxing he can give anyone problems but lately he wants to try and fight more than box. He did it against Judah, Mayweather and now Cotto. At 135 I can see both Castillo and Casamayor beating him. If he fights smart he can beat Corrales but if he doesn't he will get get beat maybe even stopped. Juan Diaz doesn't have enough experience to beat Corley just yet.Comment

He can be a contender at 140lb. after some of the talent leaves, so maybe he should go down to 135. A word of advice for him is that when you hurt someone, don't swing little ***** shots, throw everything at him..Comment

First of all as a DC man myself...gotta voice my disgust for the bull**** that went down in PR over the weekend...that referee should be banned from the sport for life.
Now on to the question at hand...Chop Chop at 135. I think he could make the weight without too much trouble and would be a very good addition to the division. Right now he's in there with guys who are for the most part physically bigger and stronger than he is...and those factors somewhat negate his often superior boxing skills. If he was to dip down to 135 he would be matched with guys more his size and he'd more than likely have more success.

By the way Rippuh...I wouldn't say that Chop Chop was throwing little ***** shots at Cotto when he had him hurt...I think he was confident that he was on track to stop him at some point, whether it was then or later on...so he didn't get reckless and take any unneccesary risks. That being said, he definately should've worked a little harder to get him out of there in retrospect.

I agree. Chop chop is in the wrong weight. When you make the weight so easily You obviously need to think about dropping down. at 135 his power would show through a little more and his chin would be a gret asset. No way wwold COTTO HAVE STOPPED HIM. Yeah he had him troubled for a round. so what one more hook could have finished cotto.
The Ref was appauling on the weekend. he did'nt even follow procedures for deducting a point.Comment

Yo DLT!!! We were right about Chop in that he would give Cotto a tough fight. I wish he would've capitalized when he had him seriously hurt. The home-town ref calls the fight just because he takes a knee. That wasn't a good stoppage.Comment

Corley landed more than a few shots on Cotto's chin while he was hurt and he couldn't finish him. The ref wasn't good at all but Corley is at fault as well. The decision to take a knee isn't always a good one. It makes it seem that the fighter taking a knee doesn't want to fight anymore especially after he just got knockdown seconds earlier.Originally posted by mattsI agree.
