    Senchenko vs Sasaki For WBA "Regular" Title on 10/3

    The opponent for the WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (29-0, 20 KOs) was announced today. General manager of Senchenko’s promotional company Union Boxing Promotion Dmitriy Eliseev informed BoxingScene.com that the Ukrainian will hold his first title defense against the Japanese boxer Motoki Sasaki (32-7-1, 20 KOs), number 15 in the WBA rankings. Sasaki, 33 is the OPBF champion and has defended his title successfully for three times. [details]

      Sasaki is not a welterweight. He should fight at 140lb. I like Sasaki's intelligent fight styles so fluid and flexible to his opponents that he scored numerous wins over those who were apparently better than him. But those happened on Japanese soil. Let's wait and see whether Sasaki can hold his own outside of his home turf and put up a fight as he pleases.
