Is a UD/SD good enough for Cotto in a rematch w/Marg?

So if the rematch between Cotto and Margarito ever happens would a competitive UD or SD win for Cotto be enough to avenge the loss be it a controversial one? I say no, even in a fight where there is certainly no plaster present, if the fight went similar to the way it went the first time and Cotto makes it to the end and gets a close decision all I will think of when looking back on their fights was Cotto backing away and looking to his corner to stop it after he got up for taking a knee. Even if Cotto won a onesided rematch with a wide UD it wouldn't compare to the way Marg on their first fight. I say that for Cotto to truly avenge that loss he has to stop Margarito.....any thoughts opinions?

Right now a lot of fight fans disregard Cotto's first loss to marg because of the plaster incident. Cotto needs to stop Marg in a rematch, otherwise everyone will know the first fight was legit and Marg beat his azz fair and square.

Ur asking too much of cotto. A decision victory is enough, but if it ends controversially, then the has to be a rubbermatch

If Cotto wins the fight, and it's clear that he won it then I think that it's fine.

A win is a win against a guy who beat you to a bloody pulp.

He will never fight him again. He don't do rematches anyway.

Maybe your right, but to erase the most significant memory of those two together in the ring that I and many others have right now, he would have to stop him I think.

Exactly.... a guy who I think is basically finished (although I still am a big fan), with the way Shane stopped him, I dont think that Margs will EVER be the same...

If Cotto CAN NOT knock Margs out or stop Margs when he is a shell of his former self, it still will be a loss in the court of public opinion (Except for PR's)....

To be honest with you Cotto gave everything he had against Margarito and hit him with some Hellva shots, and Margarito just walked right through him. So right now i just can't see Cotto stopping Margarito. A UD win is more likely. There's no shame in that a wins a win.

Honestly though I don't see him beat Margarito. Unless he improves his stamina, defense, and clichs when he's in trouble. That and he needs to incorporate his body work in with his combinations upstairs and down... Something he did not do when he fought Margarito the first time. If he makes the improvements than I could definlty see him beating Margarito by UD without a doubt in my mind.
