Anderson Silva is a great boxer for MMA. IMO as long as he doesn't have an amateur background to back it up, he's not ready to fight a real boxer. Sparring and fighting are two different things.

      Logic Fail!!!

Manny Pacquiao got knocked stiff by a 10-11 bum in the philippines.

Juan Manuel Marquez lost to a 0-1 bum in his professional debut.

      You're just bein a hater.

Im not a Anderson Silva fan even when it comes to MMA but why cant any of you guys give credit where credit is due???

Freddy Roach wouldnt wouldnt put some random weekend warrior scrub in there to spar with a Professional fighter or he'd have a lawsuit on his hands.

That's an actual BOXER Silva was in there with. Not anyone noteworthy....but he has much more boxing skill than y'all give him credit for.

Silva does have some good defensive movement and speed for a LHW/CW, his sparring partner was not on the same level and Silva clearly wasn't going all out....I still think he would be out of this league though in there with a past his prime RJJ.

Because he's not as simple minded and idiotic as some of you guys on here.

                He's said it himself.

                He is a fight fan.

Don't see why so many of you feel the need to defend boxing.

kinda crazy to see, but that guy isn't RJJ...and imo Anderson would get tooled by him in a boxing match. He's got some pretty good boxing, but it's not amazing. OBviously, if we wanted to talk straight striking then yeah, he's a ****ing beast...but boxing, eh he's good...but i wouldn't pick him over a passed his prime Jones.
