Question about Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach....

I just read the Freddie Roach quote about Miguel Cotto. Basically, Roach is saying that Cotto's skills are eroding and that Pacquiao will expose Miguel. OK, Fine.

Now, Freddie pretty much said the same things regarding Oscar Delahoya and Ricky Hatton. He said Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore, and he said that Hatton was a fighter in decline.

If what Roach is saying is true (and it has proven to be so far), then what is Manny Pacquiao really accomplishing?

Manny is one of my favourite fighters and he is a great boxer. One of the best of this era. But doesn't it take some luster off Manny's feats when Roach is basically admitting that Manny is beating weakened or fading fighters?

And since Roach is saying that Cotto is a fading fighter, what if Miguel beats Manny? What does that say about Manny?

Freddy, you should be talking Manny's opponents UP, not tearing them DOWN.

Bah, I'd like to see him do that to Mayweather. I only hope that Mayweather is the under dog, if that fight falls threw. We all remember what happened when Mayweather was made an under dog. Back to the topic, I don't think it matters, I mean, so many people gave Pacquiao credit for the DLH win.

Its all pre-fight psychological talk. Take it all with a grain of salt. I understand that Boxingscene and other boxing websites report practically every word that is thrown out, even the most mundane news, but its all essentially pre-fight hype.

Whether it gets into the head of the opponent or not, its simply promoting the fight.
