Sumthin a fighter is born wit for the most part. But goin thru some thangs makes a man mentally tougher, thus it can make his chin stronger.

Stamina has a lot to do with someone's ability to take a punch, you can take punches a lot easier when you're not tired opposed to when you are. Margarito and a lot of others train like animals.

Genetics and determination have something to do with it too.

There's a difference between Heart and Chin. You can will through pain, it's hard to will through being unconcious. You get knocked down and out you might have every desire to get up and fight but not not able to.
Having a strong neck helps but a good deal of it is genetic.

As far as being able to withstand a punch, neck strength definitely plays a role, as it absorbs a lot of the impact when you take a shot to the head.

I honestly don't think its something that can be taught, you rarely ever see fighters 'develop' a knack for taking a punch.

And as mentioned, a better conditioned fighter will always be able to endure more punishment, because fatigue can hinder your ability to take a punch, as well as react fast enough to not get hit cleanly.

Though you can definitely improve on your ways of not taking them as cleanly and getting out of the way of them.

Margs still showed a hell of a chin and took his beating like a G. Mosley could have killed alot of people that night.
