I can't stand watching Mag boy run and hold for a ****ing hour. He is the worst fighter since Spinks to come along and make a joke out of boxing.
I had Diaz winning simply on TRYING to hurt the other guy instead of running and pecking for so long.Comment

I can't have a problem with people thinking Diaz won a close fight, and I don't think that is the controversy here. The problem is that there is no way that fight was 116-112 for Diaz and nothing else has to be said about 118-110. It looks like the fight was decided ahead of time.Comment

i can respect your decision in scoring it for diaz. This was a really close fight, neither fighter did anything great enough for me but if I have to lean towards one side, its Diaz for effective punching. I saw Malignaggis head snapping back and twisting from side to side when Diaz would land, where as Malignaggis punches only looked like thumps. Diaz did good work to the body and I dont think I ever saw Malignaggi go to the body. I liked the way Malignaggi was boxing but alot of his punches hit Diaz's gloves or completely missed. Good fight.
i scored for paulie because of a few simple reasons:
A) he was out punching the known volume puncher (paulie never had a reputation for being a volume puncher of anykind...actually the exact opposite...throwing the least amount of punches needed to win in some cases)
B)The Jab. he used it early, often, and VERY consistantly. more consistant than i've seen him use in a good while. and used it much more than diaz. it gave malignaggi his way.
C) Ring Generalship. Paulie owned that ring. He fought in that ring wherever HE wanted to fight...not where DIAZ wanted him to fight and that goes back to the effectiveness of paulie's jab. without using that jab so much diaz would have easily gotten inside and trapped paulie on the ropes. however that didnt happen.
D) Defense. I liked paulie's defense better. it was a lot more technical than usual. he was doing a little bit of everything, rolling with punches, ducking em, slippin em, blockin em; etc. he was really showing his boxing skill/ability in there. a LOT more of diaz' punches missed or were blocked than the other way around. clearly. many were influenced by the crowds reaction however the crowd was cheering at anything diaz threw.
those are the main basics as to how paulie was able to win that fight.
not to mention at the end of the fight their faces told the tale. diaz had 2 cuts and a slightly swollen head. paulie looked tired but physically fine.
So doesnt it also APPEAR that paulie got the best of him?
i dont get it. paulie does better on compubox (which are FACTS not opinions) and visibly he LOOKS like the winner. and if you know the history of the two fighters and how they like to fight you seen PAULIE forced his style onto diaz on top of it.
i dont get how he didnt win to be honest.
I agree with harold's card from HBO of 115-113 to paulie. only difference between mine and his is that we have different opinions on two rounds. dont remember which they were but one he scored for paulie i scored for diaz and one he scored for diaz i scored for paulie.
while it was a very close fight i felt like the actual decision was clear in that paulie won.Comment

I think in order to properly judge this fight , you have to be sitting ringside to see if punches are getting through or not,as it was such a difficult fight to judge.Comment
