who are you tellin. i was thinkin the same thing. except for me i had to take the hard route to get to the end of the fight. cuz i went out with a friend on saturday night so i Dvr'd the fight. i got home and skipped most of the two earlier fights and got straight to the juan v. paulie fight.
I noticed at the opening bell that there were only 15-20 mins left in the program so i figured paulie got knocked out. (well its a lot more likely of a scenario than him knocking diaz out). so im watching and all the sudden i see that huge cut show up on diaz' face. and the time on the dvr is ticking down (less than 5 min left) so then im thinking paulie's going to get the win on that cut he opened...
n guess what...
it ran longer than the slot i reserved to be recorded. so like after the 5th round it cut out.

so i go over to espnnews and look to find out who had won (cuz it would have drove me nuts to wait until the next day to see the remainder of the fight on a re-telecast). it said diaz wins via UD.
so i thought, "damn...a UD on Paulie. oh he must have battered him in the late rounds"
when i actually catch the fight in its entirety the next day i realized what had happened. the fight was over and HBO's (and mine) scorecard read 115-113 paulie. knowing what the decision will be i thought diaz just got the nod for being in his own backyard but when i heard those scorecards i almost fell out of my chair. haha
i promise my jaw litterally dropped. so as he said 118. haha.
it was sad but it made me smile when paulie let em all have it. he was the more animated version of how nate campbell was when he got the raw end of a deal a few weeks prior.Comment
