  • Malignaggi isnt going anywhere, why couldnt he dominate a much smaller brawler?

Im not trying to degrade Juan Diaz because if this fight was at 135 against some one his own size, I would have him winning, diaz is a really good fighter. From the get go I had Malignaggi winning because I dont know if any one has noticed but there is a big size difference between them, Diaz is a good fighter but he is a 25 year old brawler that has been in with people his size since he became champion. He doesent have the ring IQ to take care of a good boxer that has size and reach on him and IMO he hasnt really been tested with boxers. So my thing is that I actually thought Malignaggi was going to dominate Diaz to a decision because of his boxing but he didnt do anything in the big in the fight to impress me and fought a closely contested fight with a brawler moving up from 135. I had the fight 115-113 for Maligg, Diaz landed some good punches and making Paulie miss alot of his soft punches and applying the pressure but Paulie was boxing good. The Magic Man will get worked really good by the top 140 pounders, sorry Paulie but if you havent mastered your boxing skills, you would have to rely on power to make something happen, power that you dont have. As for Juan Diaz, he needs to stay at 135 because he can make some great fights there and beat alot of fighters. Diaz is only 25 and has already gotten all of this experience from fighting world class opponents, I can only imagine what he will be able to do at say age 28 or 29 with all of this early experience. Thanks to both fighters for providing me and friends an entertaining Saturday night, even though I lost 20 bucks

I honestly thought that was Paulies real savior, the fact he was able to just jab down on Juan and circle and just lean away from the occasional Diaz right hand. I honestly wasn't as impressed as I was annoyed watchin that fight. That 2nd and 3rd round got me all excited though, than Paulie came through and ****** the excitement right out of the fight like some sort of life sucking force.

But yeah, Diaz just won't be tall enough for 140 but at the same time no one is as defensive minded and relies on the jab and moving backwards as much as Paulie does at 140. So if there's one fight for Diaz at 140, it's gonna be Hatton.

But I seriously think Goldenboy is to blame, they are ****in awful at matchmaking.

I say it on here all the time and Ill say it again. The media & fans are so biased against pure boxers now. No one likes them. Paulie goes into Diaz hometown, drops down in weight in which everyone said he looked gaunt, and beat Diaz with the crowd roaring. Not to mention that Diaz is a good fighter in his own right. Also, when has Diaz fought someone his own size? Dude has a size advantage on everyone and thats why people use to think that he would kick Pac's ass. Paulie fought very well. You have to remember that Diaz is a bully and the crowd factor. Thats going to make the fight closer. I think Paulie does well against anyone at 140 and may be the best guy there if he tightends up that D

It should be Paulie going somewhere now. He won the fight.

You sound like the people who only act like theyve seen Floyd fight Baldy & Oscar. Paulie was a beast before McGirt got ahold of him. The guy that fought Hatton was maybe the worst fighter in boxing but up until like 2 fights before that he was a very good boxer and thats why he gave Cotto hell. Dont just judge him on the Hatton fight when even he admitted that he was total garbage. Even the biggest Paulie hater knows that was not a normal Paulie. He was terrible but in most cases he is actually better than what he even did against Diaz

Diaz having a size advantage? lol Are you ****in blind? He should be fighting at 130 if anything, more than half his opponents are always going to be bigger than him, he just ****s em out like a A.D.D. kid swinging around a solar powered jack hammer. I don't think he's ever been bigger than any opponents. Even Marquez came up from 130 looking bigger than Diaz lmao...You gotta be a ****in moron to say some dumb **** like that.

As for the Paulie doin well at 140, lol he's been around for years. He would have been doin well by now if he was meant to. The guy has struggled with fighters like Herman Ngoudjo, and actually got beat pretty convincingly by Ricky Hatton. I'm not sayin he's ass, but you cant be serious lol. He finally looked decent against a smaller fighter, and barely still won it for himself. I know the excuses for Paulie were lined up to the ****in roof for Paulie, but at the end of the night he was in a close fight with a smaller fighter. lol He ran from a smaller fighter.

Which leads me to ask, have I missed somthing? Is there like a secret society in boxing that hid all Paulie Mallignaggi fans? lol I mean, either this guy talked himself some new fans or these guys have been hiding for all these years.

It's Goldenboy's fault...I'm sure they thought this was a smart fight to be made for Diaz, but these same people put Kassim Ouma in with Jermain taylor at one point.

If Paulie can run from Cotto and survive, he was going to be able to against Diaz. Especially after the 2nd and 3rd round of this fight. Paulie was gettin touched up, after that he did what he does best. Even still, every Paulie fight has those dreadful lapses in them, even in the Hatton fight there were a few. You put Paulie in with other 140lb fighters, not smaller lightweights. Bojado vs Paulie would have been amazing I think. Somthin about that kind of style clash looks appealing.
