    Should there be a mandatory retirement for Referees & judges?

    This past saturday, the big controversy was the wide scorecards of Gail Van Hoy for juan diaz, 118-110. He could be biased, or in the take, but one thing certain is how old mr.Van HOy is;

    75 years old.

    He's 75 years old & judging boxing fights? Boxing where punches are thrown at weird angles, fast speed, boxers moving in different directions would be difficult enough seeing & processing information at any age but 75?

    Accuse me of ageism but this cannot be denied. As you grow older, everything slows down. Physically & mentally. I cant help but notice a lot of old referees in all the major sports in america; nba, nfl, mlb (umpires) & every year people complain of bad officiating.

    Bad calls galore in the nfl & nba playoffs year after year. How many times have we yelled at our television sets because of horrendous calls by umpires,officials, & refrees?

    Is old age a big reason for this?

    How can a old line judge in the nfl keep up with physical specimens like nfl wide recievers & corner backs & at the same time make a snap judgement call on whether it was pass interference or not?

    Take joe cortez for example. he had a reputation as a good referee but the last few years joe cortez looks like he needs to be inside a nursing home eating apple sauce not in the ring with world class athletes.

    Should there be a mandatory age retirement for referees, officials, umpires, & judges in all sports?

    I say 60 is a good age.

            Maybe.

            I'd like to know how old the judge was that scored 117-111 for Shannon Briggs over Foreman.

              How old are Dave Moretti and Larry O'Connell? If only they would've been shot, instead of Forrest.

                  dave moretti has to be in his mid to late 60s.

                    No. I think they should just be fired for doing a bad job whether they be 20 or 80.

                    Fired permanently.
