Having a power edge over Malignaggi means ****.

Juan Diaz the pressure fighter got outlanded by Malignaggi. That means he didn't fight his fight.
Juan Diaz landed more punches than Malignaggi in 6 of the 12 rounds. That means it wasn't a robbery. Period. End of story. Factor in that many more of Diaz's punches were of the power variety and one could see giving him the edge.

Close fight, the one judge's scorecard was ridiculous, but this was not a robbery, just a close fight that didn't go Paulie's way.

Throwing punches doesn't mean much when the other guy throws a lot anyway.

Point is the fight to me was very close,6-6- or 7-5 either way were the corect scores here.

2/3 scorecards said different thus a robbery.

am i the only one that thinks that malignaggi landing more is a weak arguement? final punch stats were:

          Diaz: 178/663
          Malignaggi: 191/949

so paulie landed 13 more punches out of the extra 286 punches he threw.
          big ****ing deal.

Thats BS of course you can be robbed in a close fight, if Malignaggi won 7 rds in 95% of peoples opinions and the decision goes the other way, it's a robbery. This no robbery in a close fight **** is BS.

i dunno about a great fight..paulie just ran and diaz just chaased and didnt connect too often..not a very exciting fight..ive seen plenty of crowds on hbo ppv and regular hbo where they chant boring or boo both fighters..no difference there..

I think people boo'd more as soon as Paulie blurted out fuuuck boxing fuuuuck texas..his fault..not us..u cant justr come out yellin curse words about the sport and texas and expect the crowd to cheer...common sense man..paulie screwed himself there.

I dont think Houston is as bad as ppl say it is. I thought the tie was about right for the Chris John fight, and also when Diaz took on Katsidis, and it was an absolute clear victory for Diaz, one of the judges still gave the nod to Katsidis, even though he won 3 rounds max. The other Judges also had it close.

They also had good scoring for the Diaz/Marquez fight until the stoppage.

You might have a case if there were 7 rounds that were completely one sided, which is certainly not the case here. Like I said, Diaz out landed him in 6 rounds, and had a huge edge in power punches landed. To call it a robbery is absurd.
