    Its $15 per person.
I'd pay that much money. I wish they'd do things like this in the UK.

      Filling The Floyd Void

Salvaging the Mayweather/Marquez contest has become a full time job unto itself. Reviving 'closed circuit' telecasts at movie theaters is a brilliant concept if prices can be kept below $20. I recall seeing Pepino Cuevas Vs. Tommy Hearns at The Westchester County Center in NY in 1980. The price tag was $15 for that one round KO and two thousand plus fans jammed the arena.
I was also present at most of the Ali and Leonard theater broadcasts and also witnessed a few displayed on a huge four sided screen which hovered at Madison Square Garden. The Garden would host a live card and then present the telecast as the main event. Holmes/Cooney was promoted by MSG in this format and it sold out swiftly. Standing room only tickets to the event were also sold out. By the time Leonard /Hagler came about, prices had jumped to around $30.
HBO broke sacred ground by televising 'The Thrilla In Manilla ' but closed circuit remained an option for years thereafter.
Should the Money/Marquez battle do well, we can anticipate future fistic events continued in this fashion. It could serve well as a night out, allowing strapped fans to even eat out prior to the event with the dollars they will save. Hell. You could even take the wife along! Should Floyd and Manny conquer their foes, their promoters would probably request a PPV ticket of $59.99.That would signal the need to continue a less expensive trend of viewing if Boxing is to bring new fans to the fold, especially in this difficult economy. Peace To All.

****. This sounds like all my dreams come true. Too bad my epileptic arse can't go to effing movies anymore. That being said, I'm really glad that they're doing this, and I think it's a brilliant idea for the good of the sport.

Fcuking GREAT! $15 per person to watch it? Downside no one will be allowed to drink alcohol in the theaters, but that never stopped me from sneaking in a 40 from time to time.

true this is old news (actually found this out a week ago) but pretty awesome none the less.

like you guys I've always enjoyed the big time fights

but never really liked the fact they cost so damn much

and the price of this event is a pretty reasonable cost.

win win situation .. hopefully it works well

fathomevents.com for more info (under upcoming events search Mayweather/Marquez)

to get a list of all locations

we'll see how Bob Arum responds, if Marquez/Mayweather sells well, maybe this whole movie thing will be done more often

the main event might be awesome, but I'd use the Yuri Foreman fight as a gigantic bathroom break, lol.

This is pretty cool. There is a theater in Richmond where I live that you can drink in while viewing. I will prolly drink a few then go out to the theater, this will be sweet- big, comfortable seats, great sound and atmosphere like never before.
