    From a real fight fan.....

Malinaggi won that fight. I actually scored it the same as Letterman, 7-5. Don't get me wrong, I might be an even bigger fan of Diaz now after that fight but he didn't deserve the win.

Good for Malinaggi as well in the things he said after the fight. He spoke his mind and said what needed to be said. Boxing is corrupt and it's a shame Golden Boy has now followed suit with Top Rank and Don King.

Also, much props to Max Kellerman (this is the reason I like the guy) for saying a couple of things after the fight. #1, that Diaz lost and the reason of why they gave him the decision. Basically saying it's the more marketable guy who will get the nod because when it all comes down to it, money is what it's all about. #2, for saying the the claims of Arguello and Gatti committing suicide are BULL****....

He was the only one with balls enough to say that and for that I give him credit.

On a side note, Robert Guerrero fought very well and I actually had him losing this fight. He boxed extremely well against a very tough opponent.

Mexican or not Diaz lost, boxing is so tainted it's not even funny.

Man don't call yourself a real fight fan in the thread title, it's implying that others aren't.

Anyways, I completely agree about Malignaggi. Moreso I completely agree about Kellerman. I used to HATE him but Saturday he not only redeemed himself, he made me love him. That was some A-game right there.

I see Kellerman as a less senile version of Larry Merchant in about 10 years. Brash, unapologetic, outspoken. Exactly what we need.

I will call myself whatever the *** I want because that was my intention. There are people that think Diaz deserved the dec and those were the people I was calling out.

My point was that you should put aside your loyalties and give the fight to who deserved it.

I never hated Kellerman and I don't know why anyone would. He has always been an opinionated guy and last night was no different. He knows his boxing and has passed up more prestigious jobs in the industry to remain with his first love. Not to mention he actually lost his brother because he was helping a fellow boxer out.

The guy is a class act and the only one who had the balls to say what many where thinking....

Agreed, I think Paulie gained more resspect from this one loss than he ever did while winning.

I am just teasing you about the thread title, and I agree that if you scored that fight for Diaz you are a Diaz fan, not a boxing fan.

The reason I hated Kellerman originally was when he first started he never chose when to speak and when not to speak, so he would say some incredibly weird or ****** ****. Since then he has matured as a broadcast announcer, learned to think about what he says and has started saying things I agree with so whole heartedly that I am thankful someone gave him a mic. He speaks for the fans and that's awesome.

No doubt and we always knew he was a very good boxer. I think this was a tough fight for Paulie because of Diaz' style. I think Diaz would be a world beater if he had power though, man that guy would be dangerous because he was landing some big shots on Paulie early on in that fight.

I love boxing and although the fight could have gone ethier way I scored the fight 115-113 for Diaz. Paulie had great movement and used his jab excellently but he did land enough right hands to win the fight. In the rounds where he did more than just jab I gave him the nod but in other rounds all he did was jab and move in one direction. I saw Diaz movng forward and throwing body shots hooks and over hand rights. To me in those rounds Diaz was the one making the fight and landing the move effective shots. I saw the last round as a swing round and although Paulie started off that round good Diaz was the one moving forward and throwing the more punishing blows. To me 7-5 Diaz and I am a REAL BOXING FAN....I think what Paulie said after the fight was honest and real. The judges who scored that fight 118-110 should be taken out to the parking lot and shot. No way 118-110 that is just bad for boxing. I could see 115-113 for either guy even 116-112 is pushing it but could be a score but 118-110 WOW! Paulie earned his resepct not only for the great performance but also for speaking his mind with out insulting Diaz or the fans in the arena. I am from Brooklyn not too far from where Paulie lives and I know a few of the same people he knows. I was routing for him although I did not think he would win after seeing his last performance and knowing the issues he has with his right hand. He surprised the hell out of me and I give him his props....Lefty

I also believe that Paullie won that fight and even thou both fighters gave a great night for boxing, the night was tainted because of other influences that actually screwed both fighters.

Also I really was proud of Max when he talked about the deaths of Gatti and Arguello, major props to him.

It may well be, but it is in his hans to do better marketing and public relations off this instead of going nuts cursing at boxing, he has all the right to do so and did, but from now on he must take care of the fans that saw the fight and take them on his side.

I really want to see them both fight again, specially paulie in the later rounds it was like the magic man was back.

Well with all due respect, I just don't see how you can give that fight to Diaz. I mean, he lost 3 out of the last 4 rounds easily. I gave Diaz the final round but Paulie out boxed him and connected a ton pf shots more than he did.

Like I said, I gained even more respect for Diaz after this fight but the wrong man won.....

If it would have been scored closer for Diaz, then people might have bought it. What I don't understand is, if they are going to cheat, at least make it look like you didn't cheat.
