    Did Malignaggi set himself up for this?

    The scores of 116-112 and 118-110 were horrible, and maybe there was nothing Paulie could do to prevent it. But is it possible all the talking and complaining and warnings he was doing in public about how he was expecting to get screwed made the judges hold a grudge? Of course judges are supposed to be unbiased but maybe they had it in their mind to screw Malignaggi because of how he talked about them.

    Thoughts?

      If the judges did penalize Malinaggi then they all should be banned and that fight should be ruled a mandatory draw or no contest. Malignaggi's comments should have nothing to do with scoring the actual fight unbiased and if judges can be swayed that easily, they don't need to be judging fights.

      I thought the judges atrocious scoring definitely ruined a great fight. Both guys fought with a lot of pride. I thought Malignaggi outpointed Diaz and at best I would have settled for a draw. No way that Diaz believes that he really won that fight but I give him credit for thanking Houston (lol). He really needs to make the rematch with Malignaggi in a neutral city.

      Golden Boy Productions **** is starting to stink imo. In that Jones/Hopkins argument on radio, Jones spoke about how Hopkins and Golden Boy were trying to **** him in a negotiation with a rematch with Hopkins. Then we have Malignaggi tell Kellerman the same thing. This all prior to the fight.

      Garbage

          Maybe he thought he could make the judges self conscious about their scorecards by putting alot of attention on them, thereby making them less inclined to show bad scorecards.

          It obviously didnt work out like that, the 118-110 judge just wanted to completely **** him over knowing that he wouldn't be held accountable for his crap scoring.

            It could work either way. I remember B-hop complained about Cortes being Referee for a fight and Cortes ended up being unfair to B-hops opponent haha

                This is my view;

                Malignaggi talks about how unfair the scoring is in Texas, how he's worried that the scores will turn out to be ridiculous. So by highlighting that, the judges should be extra careful when they score. If it was scored an SD for Diaz it would have been slightly controversial, but not as bad as the 118 - 110 score for Diaz.

                Malignaggi was right about what was going to happen and now it makes Texas look real bad.

                  It's amazing the cojones it must take to get singled out before the fight as the crappy judge and then be the one with the most outrageous scorecard. That's why I'm thinking the way I am. Like the guy said "oh you think I'm unfair? F*** you I'll show you unfair."
